Kathryn Weidner is Senior Counsel at Rosca Scarlato and has more than a decade of experience advising investors on asset protection and recovering fraud related losses. Ms. Weidner is an experienced litigator and focuses her practice on securities law violations and complex litigation. She represents clients in securities actions against companies and executives that commit securities fraud and other financial malfeasance. Ms. Weidner has a proven track record of litigating significant securities cases and shareholder derivative actions on behalf of investors throughout the country, recovering more than $350 million for injured shareholders.

Prior to joining Rosca Scarlato, Ms. Weidner was an attorney with a nationally recognized securities litigation firm where she represented institutional investors in securities class actions. Notably, she was a member of the In re Wilmington Trust Securities Litigation team, contributing significant efforts that ultimately led to the recovery of $210 million for injured investors. Ms. Weidner was also a member of the In re Rayonier Securities Litigation team that recovered a $73 million settlement – the second largest securities class action settlement in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Additionally, she was a member of the In re HD Supply Securities Litigation team that recovered a $50 million settlement – the fourth largest securities class action settlement in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.

Ms. Weidner regularly contributes to speaking events, publications, and educational courses regarding investor rights, corporate fraud, and securities law practice. In recognition of her work in securities litigation, she has been repeatedly named a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers, an “Up and Comer” by South Florida Legal Guide, and a “Top Lawyer” by Palm Beach Illustrated.

Ms. Weidner is a prominent advocate for diversity and inclusion in the legal field and financial industry, and has led initiatives across local, state, and national organizations. She’s raised more than 210k dollars for women State Attorney General candidates, was a mentor for the Dress for Success career readiness program, and founded and chaired the Diversity Committee at her former law firm. She also regularly participates in organizations such as the Women’s Foundation of Florida and the League of Women Voters.

Ms. Weidner earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Miami, and was part of an honors program in political science at the University of Oxford, England. She received her Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University, graduating cum laude with a concentration in International Law. During law school, Ms. Weidner was the recipient of the Larry Kalevitch Award for business law, as well as a CALI award recipient for financial business planning and secured transactions.

Ms. Weidner is admitted to practice in the State of Florida. She is also admitted to the U.S. Federal District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Florida.
